A leader in the straw industry, Eagle Beverage has been making straws since the mid 1980's. What started as mostly a boutique straw manufacturer, turned into a 24/7 multi-line operation for some of the world's largest customers. In 2018 Eagle launched a comprehensive line of PLA straws and cutlery, quickly followed by paper straws and in 2020, Eagle launched PHA straws, the most sustainable straw available in the market today.

In 1865, French chemist M. Paul Schützenberger produced the first organic ester of cellulose (cellulose triacetate) by heating cotton and acetic anhydride to about 180 °C in a sealed tube until the cotton dissolved. Uniquely, it had a degree of substitution (DS) of about three but was soluble only in expensive solvents. FAST FORWARD 150 years, and Cellulose Acetate has an opportunity to create drinking straws suitable for cold drinks. Made primarily with 40-50% wood pulp our straws meet ISCC standards for sustainability and sustainability credits.
